Stuff Tickling Our Ears!

As serious music fans, we thought that you might like to know what we're listening to around at Mr Kite Towers. Included on this page are CDs that we think are magnificent - otherwise, why would we bother with creating this page? There are links through to be able to purchase them - preferably from the artist. Of course, we'll change this now and again - when we feel like it.
We also hope to expand this to include MP3 downloads that will feature artists appearing at
Upcoming Benefits or, possibly, live shows from Benefits You Missed - anyway, enjoy, as they say!

Sam Baker came recommended by Gurf Morlix - thanks, Gurf - this is a fabulous record. Sam has a voice that is as lived-in as John Prine or Todd Snider - think gargling gravel time - and lyrics which bite at some times and lick you tenderly all over at others. If you want to know more about what makes him so piercing in his commentaries, check out this in the Houston Chronicle. Can't say fairer than he's welcome with us whenever he gets over the water. Read my review or just buy the record and find out why we're so excited.
Don't ask about the name - we've no idea either. But King Creosote has caused a stir around here with his sometimes impenetrable Scots accent and backing from The Earlies. He's not the average Folkie that you might find at one of our Benefits but sits with his mates The Fence Collective amongst the 'nu folk' or whatever you want to call 'em - hey, they don't even know, so, we've no chance. Mind you, this record has caused sufficient interest to find me trekking cross-country to investigate further - if only I recognised what I was looking for.
Definitive genius at work - do I need to add more?
